Inaugural BIPIC meeting held in Dublin

An association linking the British and Irish print industries has been launched with the inaugural meeting hosted in Dublin.

The British Irish Printing Industry Council (BIPIC) has been formed to promote the common interests of the industry and share knowledge and experience.

The meeting was hosted by the Irish Printing Federation and initiatives agreed included developing management training systems and explore opportunities for enhanced international representation.

"BIPIC is a major initiative by employers in the UK and Ireland to cooperate in areas of common interest and improvement," said Irish Printing Federation president Kevin Walsh.

Scottish Print Employers Federation president Bob Hodgson added: "It will allow the constituent members to represent themselves more effectively with national governments and with other international organisations."
