ID Data Cards installs mail inserting line

Tall Group subsidiary ID Data Cards has increased its capacity to produce plastic card fulfilment work as demand in the sector rises.

The Petersfield, Hampshire-based company has invested £100,000 in a DS100 mail inserting system from Pitney Bowes.

According to ID Data Cards business development director John Cooke, the machine should pay for itself in just six months.

He said: "Combined with the launch of our one-piece mailer we possess the capability to handle the precise mailing needs of our customers.

"In the past 12 months, we have experienced considerable demand for end-to-end card solutions, so the mailer will provide us with the capacity to undertake high-volume requirements in a fast and cost-effective manner."

The mailer can handle up to 12,000 items per hour and ID Data Cards expects it to provide a "very low cost per mail piece". It will handle a number of formats including design, manufacturing, personalisation and mailing.

Tall Group has a turnover of around £16m and employs more than 200 staff across its businesses, which include Tall Security Print and Checkprint.
