HP ups wide-format presence as it completes MacDermid deal

HP has completed the integration of recent acquisition MacDermid ColorSpan, which bolstered its wide-format portfolio.

As part of the product integration, the ColorSpan 5400uv series has become the HP Designjet H35000/H45000, designed for durable outdoor and indoor signs, banners, point-of-purchase displays and posters.

The HP Scitex FB910, which replaces the ColorSpan 9840uv, is a flatbed printer aimed at high-volume outdoor and indoor work, such as signs, banners and building wraps.

Enrique Lores, vice president and general manager at HP Large-Format Printing Business, said the products "further differentiate HP as the only supplier that offers a full range of aqueous, solvent, and UV-curable solutions".

He added: "We're pleased to offer customers who are growing into outdoor applications and more industrial workloads a continuous growth path with the high level of service, quality and reliability they expect from HP."

HP bought MacDermid ColorSpan for an undisclosed amount in September last year. HP's existing wide-format offerings included the Scitex and Designjet series of printers.
