Hollywood Monster has taken on a new Silicone Edge Automated Stitching (SEAS) machine from Meevo to enhance its productivity and quality.

The Birmingham-based wide-format and trade printer has already taken delivery of the kit, supplied by Soyang Hardware, which is due to be up and running this week.

It said the machine represents a significant advancement in the field of SEG Keder sewing, offering three levels of automation designed to optimise operational productivity. The kit was installed in response “to the ever-expanding utilisation of tension fabrics with SEG Keder in the market”.

Hollywood Monster CEO Simon McKenzie said: “The introduction of our SEAS system demonstrates our commitment to the growth and development of our business, as well as delivering the best possible service to our customers.

“We have paid close attention to their required print solutions, and it was clear that we could expand our offering within tension fabrics.

“We hope this move will underscore our dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry, offering cutting-edge solutions that transform the way large-format print projects are executed.”

The new device incorporates 4.0 functionality, facilitating production tracking and enhancing overall efficiency. It automatically joins large-format panels, creating extra-large panels with accuracy and quality.

To further facilitate the handling and alignment of heavy and oversized display textiles, Hollywood Monster has also invested in an extension table, which is equipped with levelling castor wheels and can be swiftly moved around the factory floor to support production requirements.

In May, Hollywood Monster acquired Leicester-based Sygnet Group from administration, taking the company to a combined turnover of £12m.
