On behalf of the DTI, PricewaterhouseCoopers interviewed trade bodies, printers, suppliers and customers to assess the uptake of e-commerce and its impact on the sector.
"The report highlights the major issues which most businesses will need to address if they are to remain competitive," said Hewitt.
She added that she was "delighted" to be able to attend Ipex. "It is an excellent opportunity for the industry to showcase the dynamism and excellence that is driving it forward."
Following a tour of the show, Hewitt will present the findings at 11.30am on 10 April in the Cross Media Theatre in Hall 4.
John Brazier, chief executive of Ipex owner Picon, said Hewitts presence "reinforces Ipexs importance to the UK economy".
Ipex marketing director Ashley Whitworth said the timing of the results "could not be better". "Ipex will in many ways be about the development of internet services for the printing and publishing industry."
