Heligon's Vertus Fluid Mask uses image processing techniques based on the human visual system to analyse images and it's this
combination of clever processing and a meta data layer in the image that the firm claims is unique.
As well as slashing the time taken to mask or cut out complex images the firm also said it makes some subjects that would previously have been too complicated to cut out achievable. It also suggested that the time savings offered could keep manual pre-press tasks such as cut-outs in the UK, counteracting the move towards offshoring.
The Mac version of the software will be launched on 1 June with the PC version following in July.
