Heidelberg is to run its 2012 Print Buyer University course from 16 to 20 July.

Aimed at advertising agencies, publishing companies, manufacturers and government agencies the course will focus on strategy and ensuring quality for handling international print projects.

The five-day course includes six live demonstrations and sessions with 12 speakers on elements such as application of international standards, assessing print quality, getting to know the latest efficient production processes in order to develop a beneficial relationship with a printer, and the confidence to make press-pass decisions.

The modules will be presented by the likes of Florian Süßl, prepress manager of a leading German corporate design agency, Rainer Thöny, former Printed Materials WE purchasing group manager at Procter & Gamble, as well as experts from Heidelberg.

Participants receive a Print Media Advisor certificate on completing the course, which will be conducted in English at the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg. The course costs €2,250 (£1,867).
