Gill, who began his career in 1956 with Wiggins Teape, will hand over his responsibilities in January to Fabian Langenskild, Stora Enso UKs divisional director for magazine papers.
Langenskild will become divisional director of publication papers, assuming responsibility for both newsprint and magazine grades.
Gill was formerly the managing director of Enso in the UK, which he helped set up in 1987.
Im looking forward to getting off the treadmill. Itll be nice to not do as much travelling, said Gill. I plan to take a year off and play some golf.
