GAS announces largest ever foil stamping equipment

US foiling equipment manufacturer Graphic Art Systems (GAS) has responded to a worldwide swing towards large format presses by launching an extension to its Eagle Systems range of foil stamping equipment.

The new Eagle Foil machine is the largest ever released by the company, at 1600mm. A 1400mm machine is also available. GAS has based the machine on the Bobst SP1600E autoplaten,

Included in the new machine is a nine zone heated honeycomb chase, three foil indexing rollers, servo controlled take up, an automatic on/off impression unit and foil brush removal unit producing a fully automatic hot foil stamping press with 1600mm x 1115mm sheet size.

Other options for the new machine include a modular foil rewind unit, and an anti backlash system to rewind all types of foil.

Mike King, president of GAS, said: "In the recent past we have received many enquiries for large size automatic foiling platens as the move to larger printing presses gathers pace."
