Full Vision has opened a new wide-format facility near Valencia, in South-East Spain, in an effort to gain a foothold in the continental market.

Full Vision will use the new £1m Valencian base to help slash lead times for clients’ European events, and eventually expand further into the European market.

Now fully commissioned, the site has an EFI Vutek wide-format press and a Summa flatbed cutter, with an HP Latex 360 due for installation.

The site now has three full-time staff under Full Vision design head and native Valencian Ignacio Capellan, and was greenlit to hire locally in January.

Sam Tanner, Full Vision managing director, told Printweek the team was very excited about the opportunities afforded by the expansion: “Over the next 12 months, Ignacio will be there on a daily basis.

“It can’t be done overnight, of course, but we have staff there already and we’re ready to go. It’s just about getting the word out, and getting existing and new clients on board.”

The new location, Tanner said, will cut lead times for European projects while reducing the company’s environmental impact, and the costs and potential risks inherent in shipping graphics over to mainland Europe.

He added that Full Vision was concentrating on giving its Spanish wing a sensible start, with a managed phase-in for clients to steadily expand the site’s capabilities and take on more orders over the next year.

“For us, it’s about making sure we’re working closely with our clients and making sure they know about our capabilities there, and then ramping that up. We’re happy to invest in it, and the more sales we generate the more work we can produce locally,” he said.

Eventually, Tanner said, the European site may prove even more lucrative than the firm’s UK operation.

“The market is a lot bigger,” he said.

“Who knows – but we have our feet on the ground. We’re all about service, all about driving cost efficiencies for our clients. And I think for us it’s exciting to see what other opportunities this does open.”

Full Vision currently turns over around £7m annually, and employs 32 staff in the UK.
