Friday-Ad has installed the native PDF RIP to drive its two Fujifilm Luxel News 80 platesetters and productivity has risen by more than 70%, according to the company.
The two platesetters output around 800 plates a week for use on the company's 128-page Goss Universal 45, which prints its eponymous multi-edition titles, and its five-colour Sakurai B2, which handles commercial work.
XMF Processor, which is based on the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE), supports PostScript and PDF file formats and features integrated ICC colour management, Adobe in-RIP trapping and the ability to accept JDF jobs.
Chris Green, pre-press operator at the site, said: "Among its many tasks, XMF Processor has to convert colour images to black and white for reproduction in Friday-Ad, which it does seamlessly."
The site images around 600 Brillia LP-NNV plates a week for its Goss press and around 200 Brillia LP-NV plates for its Sakurai press.
