Folding school back to tackle skills shortage

Friedheim International is relaunching its MBO Folding School after an absence of six years.

The course is being reinstated in response to complaints by companies about a shortage of skilled post-press operators.

It will cover basic theory and practice as well as advanced folding. It will also focus on folder safety and troubleshooting.

The firm believes that the subjects covered will offer benefits to all folder operators.

"Its appeal is not just limited to MBO users," said technical manager Bobb Sugg. "With folding being a bit more of an art than a science, the tips that we can pass on are relevant to all machines."

The three-day course costs 250 per person, per day (based on three attendees per day).
