Cambridge carton printer Firstan has ordered Europe's first 2m Mitsubishi six-colour B1 102 H-series press with a BB unit.
This unit, situated at the end of the press, effectively adds another two units. It can apply a coating to the top of the sheet while simultaneously reverse printing the board from below.
Firstan production director Paul Hartwig said: "Lots of our food packaging work is reverse printed with recipes or other languages. With the BB unit we can do it all in one pass."
The CIP3-compatible H-series will be linked to the firm's new 550,000 B1 Agfa Galileo platesetter, supplied by Litho Supplies.
