The 10-day ebay auction began on 3 October, with more than 50 celebrity-designed envelopes on offer in aid of the National Literacy Trust (NLT). The participants read like an A-Z of celebrity clout, with names ranging from polymath thespian Stephen Fry to Uri "lock up your spoons" Geller.
Pictured here are four examples by Sir Ian McKellen, Shirley Bassey, Bruce Forsyth and Damien Hirst. Answers on a postcard for who did what. For more info and to get bidding, check out: www.pushingtheenvelope.info
