En Route Design and Print capitalises on short-run boom with Anicolor buy

Surrey printer En Route Design and Print has targeted growth in the short-run market following an investment in a Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor from Heidelberg.

The company's latest Speedmaster press is housed in a purpose-built 325sqm site in South Godstone, which it moved into in January, and is part of a £500,000 investment that includes a Suprasetter A74 platesetter and Polar 78X guillotine.

The 11-staff design and print business will use the Anicolor for short-run work, taking on 100- to 500-run jobs that clients would have previously done digitally.

Managing director Vince Hogg said: "We're winning work back that would have normally gone elsewhere to be printed on digital machines."

He added: "It's a real fight back and we're also taking on longer-run work from companies outsourcing jobs to us."

Established 28 years ago, the company produces a range of work for commercial, corporate and promotional print clients, including brochures, leaflet and business cards.

According to Hogg, the market requires investments to remain competitive, while offering colour consistency and quicker delivery times.

"The Anicolor de-stresses the whole print process because with four-colour process the results will always be consistent," he said.
