EFI reveals Donnelley deal

EFI has secured a significant software contract with print giant RR Donnelley.

At its annual user conference, Connect, EFI today confirmed that Donnelley has implemented its Prograph job management system at 14 plants in North America. The news had been the subject of industry speculation, but neither party would confirm it until now.

It's a coup for EFI, which lost out to MIS rival Dims! four years ago when Donnelley selected an enterprise-wide Dims! MIS for its 30 largest graphic operations in the region.

The Prograph roll-out has taken place over the last five months, and makes Donnelley EFI's largest Prograph client.

"We were very pleasantly surprised that we were able to deploy the system across 14 plants in only five months," said Dan Knotts, executive vice president and general manager of RR Donnelley.

Marc Olin, vice president and general manager of EFI commercial print systems, described the deal as "a strong testament to the outstanding quality and reliability of Prograph".

"It's great to be back in there as RR Donnelley were one of our first customers," he added.
