EFI appoints new CFO as Olin becomes COO

EFI has appointed former Xerox executive Grant Fitz as its new chief financial officer as Marc Olin becomes chief operating officer.

Fitz, who started in his new role yesterday (9 September), has nearly 30 years of financial and operational experience overseeing accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis in the print marketing, tech and automotive fields.

Jeff Jacobson, who took over from Bill Muir as EFI’s chief executive last month after joining the manufacturer’s new owner Siris Capital in June and then becoming executive chairman of EFI in July, said: “Having worked with Grant at Xerox, I know him to be a thoughtful and insightful executive and a dynamic, resourceful CFO.

“I am excited to have him join our team to establish new financial strategies that give us the ability to drive deeper engagement and even stronger innovation in our customer offerings.”

He added: “I also wish to express my appreciation to Marc, one of the longest-serving members of EFI’s senior leadership team.

“He steered the company’s finances and helped shape strategy through an extended growth period. I look forward to working closely with Marc into the future in his COO role.”

Olin also started in his new role on 9 September. EFI did not have a chief operating officer prior to Fitz being taken on and the manufacturer said Olin's responsibilities in the position "also represent a new strategic role for EFI that the company has not had in the past".

Fitz has joined EFI from print and digital marketing technology and consumer engagement company Valassis, where he also served as chief financial officer. Prior to that he was corporate vice-president and chief financial officer at Xerox Technology.

Fitz has also held a number of senior leadership positions at General Motors, both in Europe and the US, and served as the company’s first chief risk officer. He also worked as the senior vice-president and chief financial officer of global automotive steering systems company Nexteer Automotive.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

EFI’s product range spans a wide range of industry applications, including large- and superwide-format, textiles, inks, corrugated, MIS and productivity, and printer front-end systems.
