The qualifying products range include thermal print heads; ink formulations for the manufacturing of ink-jet cartridges; powdered toner, based on a polyol resin; and some liquid printing inks.
The eligibility of the materials and equipment was based on two criteria the items had to generate demand within the EU and be subject to either weak or non-existent local production.
The Commission's proposals mean that the listed items qualify for three-year (almost entirely) duty-free quotas, which are unlimited in scope.
