DPS buys new machinery to expand services

DPS has invested more than £30,000 in new equipment to support the expansion of its gift arm, Izzy Rose.

The Sleaford-based firm took delivery of a range of machinery from Ashgate Automation two months ago including a Fastbind Casematic H46 Pro casemaker, a Fastbind Pureva XT perfect binder, a FotoMount photo album binding machine and a Maxit Adhesive System.

The new devices are additional to the company’s plant list, which also includes Xerox digital kit and Epson wide-format machinery as well as Morgana and Duplo finishing equipment.

The new machinery will support the expansion of Izzy Rose, which specialises in personalised photobooks, calendars and canvases.

The firm has recently launched a new website for the brand which it said enables customers to now add personal design elements in the form of photos and text to products including calendars, diaries and photobooks.

DPS managing director Matt Savage said: “This new kit will help us to make the one-off bespoke gifts that we’re looking to be able to offer more into the next year. This will help us to build Izzy Rose into a bigger brand.

“When we launched the Izzy Rose website we began with calendars, but quickly included diaries and photobooks and hope to be able to add additional gifts in the run up to Christmas.”

He added: “The new kit means we can process orders quickly and efficiently for our customers.

“We’ve recently taken our first order for branded ring binders and A4 notebooks from a local business. I’m looking forward to rolling these out and many more products in the near future.”

The firm is also looking to revamp its digital operation in the coming months and hopes to replace its current digital machinery with newer models at the end of the year.

“We’re just hoping to keep growing and keep pushing the personalised gift side,” said Savage.

Earlier this year the company offered a permanent job to Kevin Pinder, a printer who had to give up work five years ago to have a brain tumour removed, following his completion of a work placement scheme.

Savage set up DPS in 2004. It now has a turnover of just under £1m and employs 16 staff, 14 at its Sleaford production facility and two more at its sales office in Boston, also in Lincolnshire. The firm’s clients include HomeLet, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Moonpig.
