The founder and managing director of Dominion Print has passed away following a recent illness.

Dominic Clark started the Bradford-based company in 1983 from a converted chapel in the suburbs of Bradford and concentrated on the then-niche market of large-format print.

In a statement, the company said: “He was the driving force in the sustained growth of the business and in 2000 he oversaw an investment in the biggest, inline screen-printing press in Europe along with state-of-the-art additions to what had been a smaller digital department.”

Since then, Dominion has added dye-sublimation to its offering and continued to invest in the latest digital equipment.

Today it supplies printed visual marketing materials for local, national, and international brands. Its services include design, production, and installation and its product range includes banners, building wraps, printed flooring, light boxes, tension frames, photo wallpapers, POS, flags, billboards, hoardings, and crowd-barrier covers.

In 2020, it set up a new e-commerce site after adding bespoke-branded washable face coverings to its product mix.

Clark started to step back from the business in 2020 and, during his recent illness, handed the reins over to his daughter, Verity Fox, who has acted as de facto managing director.

Clark passed away on 4 January and his funeral is tomorrow (9 February). Anybody who would like to attend is welcome and should contact verity.fox@dominionprint.com for details.

Fox said: “My father Dominic was an astute businessman but more than that, he was known throughout the industry as a man of integrity. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and countless people in the print industry and wider business community.”

Dominion Print has set up a Just Giving page in Dominic’s name, inviting donations to British palliative, neurological and bereavement support charity Sue Ryder.
