Shoppers browsing through the rugs in M&S Home will now be able to see them in their entirety at first glance, thanks to new labels produced by Bezier Labels new Digital Solutions division.
Each of the six brands of rug, supplied by garment manufacturer Delta, are available in two sizes. Previously they were rolled up in canvas bags and had to be removed if customers wanted to see them whole.
But now each one is wrapped in clear plastic and sports an image of the unrolled rug in full colour on its label, which is also colour-coded by brand. The front and back labels are printed alternately on a single reel, making the task of labelling the rugs much simpler.
Julia Rooke, Deltas commercial and design executive, said the job would have been "prohibitively expensive" to do conventionally.
