Diamond Box increases capacity with double Bobst buy

Corrugated packaging manufacturer Diamond Box has increased its die-cutting and gluing capacity with a double purchase from Bobst.

The West Bromwich-based company installed a Bobst Vision 160 corrugated die-cutter last month, while a Bobst Visionfold 170 folder-gluer will be installed in November.

Chief executive Kavi Jundu said: "We have achieved fantastic growth over the four years we have been operating, so much so that we need to increase our die-cutting and gluing capacity to make sure that we keep our versatility and fast turnaround.

"Our existing Bobst diecutter has been working seven days a week for the past twelve months and our flexibility and lead times were in danger of suffering as a result. The installation of the Vision 160 will ensure that we keep up with the growth in demand we have seen for die-cut boxes whilst staying close to our core values of service and short lead times."

The Vision 160 is a 1.6m wide machine capable of die-cutting a range of corrugated and micro-flute materials at speeds of up to 4,800 sph, with job changeover in less than 10 minutes.

The Visionfold 170 folder-gluer will give Diamond Box customers access to an increased number of box styles.

Jundu added: "We have seen good growth in this area and having the Visionfold will allow us to deliver an expanded range of box styles while maintaining the service customers expect from us."
