CSL produces 100,000 ID cards for watchdog

CSL Digital Print has rolled out 100,000 ID cards featuring the widest range of details it has been asked to produce.

The company, which is the in-house printer for gas-safety watchdog Corgi as well as a commercial operator, has included logos, photos and registered gas fitters' personal details.

Corgi wanted operators' details in Braille and checklists of work they could undertake.

At its busiest period, more than 5,000cards a day were coming off CSL's HP Indigo S2000 press.

Print-services manager David Hayward said the 127 fields of information resulted in thousands of combinations.

"We included all the required information, which was an achievement considering the constraints of the ID card," he added.

The Basingstoke firm has been making ID and membership cards for six years.

It also handles direct marketing, fulfilment and data management.
