Crews tackle fire at Kent paper mill

Firefighters have been called to a paper mill in Northfleet, Kent after a fire broke out this morning.

At 10.30am this morning, six engines from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene at the Kimberly-Clark paper mill in Crete Hall Road where firefighters have been tackling a blaze on the mill’s second floor.

The are no reports of any injuries.

This is the latest in a number of fires at the site, including a blaze started when machinery caught fire on 2 January this year, a roof fire in September last year, and earlier incidents in 2011 and 2007.

A warehouse at the site had to be rebuilt after it was completely destroyed by a fire in 2004.
