Crawford, who joined the company as sales director in 2000, will take the helm in the lead-up to Newstec and Ipex 2006. He had announced at Ipex 2002 that he had taken the position of publishing exhibitions director at DMG.
"From my point of view, working on Ipex is my dream job," said Crawford.
He is currently in the handing-over phase with Eden, who is looking to move into a consultative role or interim management work. "I love Ipex, but I couldnt do a third one," Eden said.
Crawfords first task will be planning for Newstec next May in Brighton, as well as the ongoing task of the Ipex 2002 "wash up and review".
He will work alongside Alison Hunter, managing director of International Business Exhibitions, a division of IIR, which has taken over the running of all future Ipex and Newstec events.
