Cradley has picked up the contract to print four magazines for GMC Publishing, which handles publishing for The Guild of Master Craftsmen.
Cradley is printing Woodworking, The Router, Furniture and Cabinet Making, and Woodturning. Each magazine has a print run of 15,000-25,000 and all are monthlies except The Router, which is bi-monthly.
GMC production manager Jack Pigden said Cradley had won the contracts due to its thoroughness in taking control during the changeover, quality and price.
Initial repro for the titles is handled at Viscan Graphics in Singapore. Cradley will handle mailing. Southernprint previously printed all four titles, which are sold on the news-stand.
GMC also publishes Woodcarving and Outdoor Photography.
Russell Mobsby of Cradleys customer services department said printing could be handled by any of the groups webs a 32pp M600, two 625mm cut-off 16pp Komori System 38IIs or its two 32pp Baker Perkins G16s. All the titles will be printed on Solaris paper and finished on Cradleys Ferag or Muller Martini Prima saddlestitchers, apart from Furniture and Cabinet Making, which is perfect bound. The Ferag line has a four-section inserting capacity.
"GMC is a new client but its one we have known about for some time," said Mobsby.
