Cradley Print kit to be sold off

Cradley Prints assets and equipment will be auctioned off following a fruitless search for a buyer.

Joint administrator Eddie Kerr of PKF said there had been "insufficient interest" to purchase the Midlands magazine printer.

Plant and machinery consultant King Sturge will hold a private treaty sale in July, although specific dates have not yet been confirmed.

On sale will be five web offset presses, two Komori System 38s, two Baker Perkins G16s and an eight-unit Heidelberg Harris M600, as well as a Muller Martini Corona perfect binding line. A second auction will follow for the remaining assets and kit.

Cradley produced its final print run in April after PKF's attempts to retain the firm's business failed.

The firm's demise led to the loss of 222 jobs.
