CR2000 to rival Kodaks ink-jet

Delphax Technologies says that its CR2000 printer will rival Kodaks Versamark ink-jet machines, with higher resolutions and speeds when it launches at Drupa.

The CR2000 has an output speed of 2,000ppm in duplex mode at 8.5x11in, with a resolution of 600dpi.

It uses electron beam imaging (EBI), claiming it has less edge distortion and better image control than traditional laser imaging.

The CR2000 will be launched with a list price of 484,000 ($900,000).
