Copypoll secures brace of UK firsts

Copypoll Print and Packaging has scored a double UK first, ordering two new packaging finishing lines from Brausse.

The Bora 1060 SE die-cutter and Forza 110 folder-gluer were ordered from the UK dealer Ipack Solutions.

“We don’t normally buy brand new equipment,” said Copypoll managing director Nigel Tollman. “But the value for money of the Brausse machines was out of this world.”

The new machines will be installed at the firm’s Wellingborough, Northampton site in October. It is also installing its first digital press, a secondhand Screen Truepress Jet 1600UVF, which will be used for proofing, prototyping and short runs.

“We’ve been looking at digital for a while; this complements our business and the ability of the UV inks to print onto any substrate means we can have some fun,” said Tollman.

The investment in kit follows a move to a 3,000sqm site at the end of 2013. Specialising in folding cartons, the 27-staff firm runs a five-colour-plus-coater UV Speedmaster CD 102, and has BRC, FSC and ISO 9001 accreditation.

The Forza 110 is a new-generation folder-gluer, which was launched in the UK earlier this year. It can process straight-line and crash-lock cartons, using a side alignment unit for faster makeready and higher quality.

The Bora 1060 SE cuts and strips at 8,000 sheets per hour and features a quick locking system for fast changeovers.

“These two addition will improve our efficiency because of their quick makeready and fast running speeds, and will also give extra capacity to keep up with growing demand,” said Tollman.

Copypoll has recognized that Brausse machines are not only about value for money,” said Ipack Solutions managing director John Hall. “Our new generation machines are designed for the highest flexibility and productivity.”

Brausse sells a range of equipment produced by the Shanghai Eterna Machinery Co, which Bobst bought a majority stake in in January 2011.
