Colombier has launched Colmart.com, an online paper-buying marketplace backed by the company's converting capability.
Colmart.com, based in Holland, will sell neutrally branded paper with limited guarantees, meaning it has certain flaws that are identified and won't affect what the paper is to be used for.
Colmart.com managing director Henrik Bjornberg said: "If a paper can only be used for single-colour work it will be a lot cheaper than paper suitable for four-colour work."
Bjornberg said paper sold on the site would be "significantly" cheaper than branded stock, but declined to give specific examples.
IBM developed the ColSmart software, which can analyse a customer's needs and advise on stocks.
"So far we've got 50 registered customers. We're targeting professionals who actually buy paper," added Bjornberg.
