City AM looks at extending distribution as far as Reading

City AM, the free financial newspaper, is planning to extend its distribution south west of London as far as Reading.

The majority of the copies are distributed by hand outside of Tube and train stations in the main financial centres of the City of London and Canary Wharf.

In addition, copies are handed out in train stations such as Richmond and Wimbledon, but demand will see this extended further west. The new distribution locations are expected to start in the autumn.

City AM has a print run of around 110,000 copies and its most recent ABC figure, for May 2008, showed an average daily circulation of 101,758 copies, a 1.9% increase on the previous month.

The paper was printed by Cambridge Newspapers when it first launched in 2005, but was switched to Newsfax International last August.

As well as extending distribution around London, City AM is considering launching in other cities.
