Norfolk-based wide-format specialist CIM Signs & Graphics has attributed its longevity to its people and customer service as it comes to the end of its 20th anniversary year.

Established with a team of three in 2000, CIM today employs 18 staff. Managing director Mark Baker is one of the original employees who set up the business. Having started his career with a franchised sign company, he wanted the opportunity to create a business with the freedom to grow and make its own choices.

“We are so proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary. This is a major milestone and it’s all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at CIM,” said Baker.

“We’re really passionate about what we do and always try to deliver the very best for every client on every single job – something that has stood us in good stead for the past two decades.”

He added: “2020 has been a particularly challenging year and for us to be celebrating this anniversary and looking ahead to the next 20 years is a great achievement.”

Throughout its history the business has continued to reinvest to provide its clients with new products, capitalise on emerging trends and enable it to offer faster turnaround times and more eco-friendly print.

In 2018 the company expanded its original premises on Mackintosh Road in the Rackheath area of Norwich by taking on the unit directly next door to increase capacity by 30% and create what it claimed was the region’s largest bespoke, climate-controlled facility for vehicle wraps and graphics.

At the end of 2019 it became the first company in East Anglia to install a Canon Colorado 1650 printer, which it said has sped up its workflow by four times.

During 2020 the business has diversified into new areas, enabling it to continue trading and to support those who reopened when lockdown eased.

Before this year it had produced less than 10 protective screens in the company’s history but in the past six months it has produced more than 3,000 screens, including desk/countertop versions for retailers and garden centres and screens inside vehicles for driving instructors.

The company’s customers include QD Group, Mattressman, Batemans, Broadland Housing, Gasway, Mayday, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and The Alarm Company.
