Canon has launched the imageRunner 8500 (iR8500), a new high-volume, print-on-demand digital system.
The iR8500 complements the range of printing systems unveiled by Canon in February, which included the iR110 and CLC5000.
"The iR8500 takes the reliability of the Canon GP605 and improves on quality, productivity, finishing and network applications," said Canon business solutions, assistant product marketing manager Glen Mason.
The package includes network printer, scanner, copier and a range of professional finishing functions, which can all be accessed through a Remote User Interface (RUI).
The iR8500 has a scan speed of 80 A4ppm, and a print speed of 85 A4ppm.
It offers resolutions of 1,200x600dpi for copying, 2,400x600dpi for printing, and a scan resolution of 600x600dpi. Finishing options including booklet folding and stapling, and document insertion are all offered by the machine.
The iR8500 will be available in June at a cost of 32,848.
