Wilkie said he had enjoyed six very good years working at Cambrian, and described the move as a "lifestyle change".
He has joined trans-Tasman company Opus Print Group in a business development role.
Cambrian chairman and managing director Robert Read said he would cover Wilkie's responsibilities while the Aberystwyth-based company reviewed its recruitment options.
