Managing director Alan Mitchell previously ran Cad Unlimited, another Glasgow-based digital print outfit.
Cads Indigo TurboStream has transferred to the new venture, which also has an Encad NovaJet 850 for large-format printing. The firm is in the process of installing finishing for both machines.
The Glasgow branch can also rely on other C3 branches, which can provide photographic output from Durst Lambdas through to building wraps produced on a 5m-wide Vutek in Manchester.
The Glasgow division currently has 10 staff, although Mitchell expects that number to grow to 14 over the next six months as its sales and finishing departments expand. He also hopes to upgrade the TurboStream to an HP Indigo 3000.
Kelvinsides plan to double the size of the chain from seven to 14 branches is ongoing. Chairman Brian Molloy has found managers for two locations and expects to open these in the next few months (PrintWeek, 6 June).
