Donna Meager is taking on the challenge, which involves scaling the 5,895m mountain, to support the 'New Life Children's Centres' schools project.
Her attempt to climb the world's biggest free-standing mountain will take place in September 2009, but the fund raising and intensive training begins now.
Meager said: "The school needs to raise £25,000 in order to build enough space to house 150 children that don't have a space at the moment."
Among the 150 children without a school are two that Donna sponsors, Eddie and Miriama. Concerning the climb, she said: "I'm going to need all of the luck I can get!"
