The proposed MBO to save label specialist Burall Carwood has finally fallen through and the firm is now set to close its doors (PrintWeek, 6 July).
Dilip Dattani, administrative receiver at BDO Stoy Hayward, is in the process of winding down the business. Its remaining machinery will be put up for sale.
Managing director Mike Hughes attempts to put together a new MBO after his initial plan foundered have fallen through.
Dattani said 15 administrative staff were left at the Birkenhead-based food and drinks label manufacturer, which went into administrative receivership in June.
A final meeting of creditors is scheduled to take place by the end of August.
The firm employed 140 staff and had invested 6m in the past three years in new kit and relocating.
