The firm is imaging the Brillia LP-NN2 plates on one of its three DiamondSetter 435 CTP platesetters, and is using them to print the northern editions of the Daily Express, Daily Star and Daily Sport as well as regional titles for Johnston Press.
Operations director David Mackel would not comment on why the company decided against using Western Lithotechs photopolymer plate. However, he said the Fuji plate was saving materials costs by giving quicker makeready times.
A Fuji spokeswoman said the deal was long-term but would not reveal its length. Fuji claims the Brillia LP-NN2 offers run lengths up to 300,000.
