He replaces Paul McQuillan, who left the firm at the end of last year.
Dobbs joined BGP six months ago and is based at its Bicester commercial web plant, which will shortly install a new 64pp Lithoman web. His print career includes spells at Macmillan, Polestar and Duncan Web Offset.
"Marcus is very well-connected with larger publishers. We've cracked a couple of key accounts in that area and we want to build on that," said group managing director John Cooling.
