Bay Print managing director Brian Filler said the firm had taken on 75% of the staff of its former neighbour Fencourt, formerly part of McCorquodale, which was placed into administration in May.
In addition, Littlehampton-based Bay Print is also in negotiations with financial services printer Fencourt's former landlords over its premises. "They [Fencourt] had expertise that we didn't have, and also had a group of loyal customers," said Filler.
Bay Print has just installed its first Mitsubishi, a Diamond 1000LS five-colour B2 printing press, with a second Mitsubishi Diamond planned for the autumn.
The firm is also planning to invest in CTP equipment, but as yet no final decision has been made.
Litho printer Bay Print specialises in point-of-sale, exhibition material and promotional items, with one of its largest clients being The Body Shop.
