The appointment of Barrett, who spent 23 years at the Leicester firm, will allow owner-inventor Graham Harris to concentrate on expanding his international distribution network.
Harris said Barrett was a "hands-on person" who would focus on installations and trouble-shooting. The firm has sold over 4,000 units of the multiple-creasing device since its launch over three years ago (PrintWeek, 18 June 1999).
Harris now has six international agents covering countries including Canada, the US, Holland and Spain, and also hopes to sign up distributors in Belgium and Germany.
Tech-ni-fold is selling between 100 and 150 Tri-Creasers a month and is looking to double sales within a year. "It almost sells itself," added Harris.
Heidelberg has bought over 1,000 since agreeing to promote the device through its global sales network (PrintWeek, 20 July 2001).
