Cheltenham-based CTPi went into administrative receivership on 28 November, with accountants Baker Tilly handling the process.
Corporate Document Services (CDS) bought CTPis Publications and iMedia divisions the same day.
CDS managing director Phil Geeney said CTPi would fit well with the firms own Content Creation, Graphic Design, Print Management and eMedia divisions. Were delighted with the acquisition and will build on the CTPis strengths in its markets, win new business and improve customer service, he said.
CTPi will rebrand as CDS and operate as part of the subsidiary of the 700-strong Baird, which has a turnover of 51m and made pre-tax profits of 44,000 in 2002 ranking it number 32 in PrintWeeks Top 500.
The Baird Group chief executive Roy Bailie said that acquisition was a logical way to grow the business. Working as a division of CDS, CTPi will gain from the groups ethos, our drive to do everything we can to provide the very best for our customers and the development of our people, which is just as important as acquiring new technology.
