According to Avalon founder Andrew Armitage, the deal will give his company the opportunity to grow on an international scale.
Theres a great synergy between the two companies, with VantagePoint specialising in the corrugated market and Avalon in the folding carton market. We could have gone it alone, but we want to grow as quickly as possible. This gives us the chance to have an immediate presence in North America with an existing infrastructure, said Armitage.
The Avalon name will not disappear immediately, but Armitage will become managing director and vice-president of VantagePoints Retail Packaging division.
