AstroMedia system attracts O2 Ireland

Astrons new workflow and digital asset management system, AstroMedia, has helped it to win the contract to provide print and logistics management for O2 Ireland.

The deal, believed to be worth over £3m a year, includes point-of-sale material, marketing collateral, and technical back-up for the mobile phone network’s operation in the Republic.

Astron chief executive David Mitchell said the Huntingdon-based group’s growth plans were "beginning to take shape in Europe and across the globe".

It is in talks in Holland, while Leigh-Mardon Astron (LMA), its franchise agreement in Australia with security print and document management company Leigh-Mardon, is also up and running.

AstroMedia has been developed in-house by Astron. It will allow O2 Ireland staff to locate digital assets through a standard web browser.

Martin Valentine, O2 Ireland’s creative and print services purchasing manager, said Astron had beaten other leading UK and Irish print management groups.
