APS Group has developed and launched a business continuity service aimed at supporting companies by ensuring business critical documents continue to reach customers.

APS said its focus is on delivering a full end-to-end business continuity service that simplifies complexity in difficult, unforeseen situations.

It stated: “Delivering just a digital print and enclosing service is not enough and most organisations forget that it is not just about printing and enclosing digital output securely and at scale, but design, artworking, document composition, pre-processing, pre-printed documents, inserts printing, warehousing and logistics to name but a few of the critical services that can be part of the whole process.

“The APS service ensures there is no unnecessarily complex supply-chain issues and operational management required at a time of organisational stress.”

Stockport-headquartered APS Group has two facilities; one is a warm standby site, dedicated solely to digital print and enclosing business continuity and is equipped with high-speed full colour digital presses, cut-sheet printers, high-speed enclosing lines, a variety of finishing equipment, and extensive warehousing.

Its other facility, in Preston Brook near Runcorn, is within a 30-minute drive and has extensive facilities from warehousing and logistics through to high-volume full-colour digital print and enclosing.

The site has around 9,290sqm of production space and warehousing and has seen significant recent investment alongside a purpose built smart factory for high security, complex lower volume jobs.

The new kit, installed between August and November 2022, included a Ricoh Pro VC60000 high-speed colour inkjet line, two Böwe Fusion Speed enclosers, an MCS Eagle 40 inkjet spray device, and a Ricoh Pro V20100 mono machine.

APS said its two sites have all the expected accreditations for cyber, data management, production and despatch.

Steve Goodall, group operations director at APS, said: “With both of our facilities located close to Manchester Airport and all the main motorway hubs, we have excellent accessibility from almost anywhere in the UK.

“Our modern facilities are all purpose designed and built for efficiency making sure our clients are assured they are in safe hands. Alongside the facilities, we have Lean Six Sigma teams across all our capabilities who will support and look after our customers every step of the way and in times of difficulty, we will do all we can to reduce the stress.”

100% employee-owned, APS Group was founded in 1961 and helps brands with creative and content, customer communications, and customer experiences.

It employs over 900 staff globally and achieved a turnover of £181.3m in its most recent accounts filed at Companies House, for the year ended 31 January 2022.
