Amberley Museum builds Ben Franklin press

Amberley Working Museum in West Sussex has built a replica Ben Franklin press, which will be used in the museums print workshop.

The project was financed by Wyndeham Press Group and built by volunteers including wheelwrights, woodturners and the museum's resident blacksmith, all using traditional methods.

"The skills base at Amberley never ceases to amaze me, but the co-ordination is equally as impressive," said museum marketing manager Sandy Wilson.

The press was built under the supervision of volunteer John Land.
