The kit, available for just under 80,000 is targeted at sign makers and display graphics companies and is built around the Czech built Octopus X4 combination flatbed and roll-to-roll printer.
"We looked at flatbeds with UV curable inks and thought the Octopus was good value for money," said AIT managing director Roger Ward. "Comparable machines go for six figures."
Ward said the main selling points of the kit, including quality, high output and an "extremely professional RIP solution", stood out against rival flatbeds like Zund.
The Octopus X4 prints up to 2040mm wide and offers 360x360dpi four-colour work at up to 45sqm an hour on materials as thick as 50mm. The package includes a PC, Mac or Linux server and inks.
"The Octopus offers print-for-pay large-format display producers the most affordable, cost-effective route into UV-cured solvent flatbed printing," he added.
