Afga launches colour service

Agfa has launched Colour Management Systems (CMS) consultancy, a new offering from its Expert Services Portfolio.

"It's an attempt to sell our knowledge to printers,"  said Freddy Cluekers, marketing and business development manager for services.

Targeted at commercial printers as well as magazine and newspaper publishers, the consultancy introduces common colour standards to automate image production and improve reproduction.

Agfa UK has been running the service for past three years and Agfa has now expanded the service to cover the whole of Europe

The aim of the service is to enable experts and engineers to analyse the flow of image files from delivery to printed result and offer advice on standardising colour accuracy and consistency.

Following the initial phase of consultation experts are available to supervise implementation.

The new consultancy comes hot on the heels of Agfa's JDF Consultancy Expert (PrintWeek, 13 May), which was made commercially available at Drupa.

The JDF consultancy analyses business and production processes and then makes recommendations on how to use JDF to improve them.
