ADM in factory switch to offer extra services

Birmingham-based firm Advanced Direct Mail is set to move to a bigger factory and expand its services in the first quarter of 2005.

The company, formed by ex-Cradley Print director Terry Barratt in March 2003, will move into a 1,860m2 factory on the Shenstone Trading Estate in Halesowen, where it currently operates.

The new factory will bring growth to the 30-strong workforce and expand ADM's capacity of 2.5m items per week.

ADM has recently upgraded its second Norpak Polyprocessor with a further six insert hoppers, allowing the machine to insert as many as 12 items in a pack.

Aidan Kidson, ADM business development director, said that the expansion plans had come on the back of new contract wins with unnamed catalogue and newspaper publishers.

He added that the addition of a third Norpak polyprocessor in the new year was "very likely".
