AB Graphic unveils Extreme II

AB Graphic International has launched the Sabre Extreme II CO2 laser die-cutter in response to the rise of digital presses used in the production of labels, cartons and sleeves.

"This technology offers on-demand converting without the expense and wear and tear of handling and storing conventional tooling," said AB managing director Mike Burton.

The modular reel-fed machine comprises software which can create or import and then edit and manage die-patterns.

The cutting is done by twin CO2 lasers that can cut at a maximum speed of 120m per minute. The Sabre II, which can kiss-cut, through-cut and perforate most film and paper, including cartonboard, was launched at Labelexpo Americas in September.

The Sabre can be supplied with the Omega Digicon,
a servo-driven converting machine for digital webs.
